The Collection & Craftmanship
Archival Standards & Master Lab Execution
At SaltPeak Studio, we translate ephemeral moments in nature into heirloom fine art masterworks. Every piece is custom-produced in partnership with premier master print labs utilizing state-of-the-art archival technologies, optical substrates, and precise color calibration to achieve remarkable three-dimensional depth and lifelong permanence.
Exhibition Display Mediums
- Fine Art Aluminum Metal:
Archival dyes are infused directly into specially coated aluminum sheets under high temperature and vacuum pressure. This dye-sublimation process yields luminous saturation, scratch resistance, and an archival rating exceeding 65 years. Metal masterworks arrive float-mounted on a concealed rear aluminum subframe, appearing to hover frameless off the wall. - Contemporary Gallery Acrylic (Architectural 4-Post Standoff): A sleek, modern mounting design pairing two premium substrates. An archival metal print is face-mounted beneath a 1/4″ optically pure acrylic shield that enriches saturation while filtering 99% of UV rays. Polished edges refract ambient room light through the emulsion, creating dynamic optical depth. Each piece is precision-drilled and secured with four architectural stainless steel corner standoff posts, floating the artwork dimensionally off your wall.
- Archival Fine Art Paper Prints (Open Editions — Online Fulfillment): Offered in two archival paper surfaces: Moab Entrada Bright Rag (a 100% cotton rag, acid- and lignin-free fine art paper delivering velvety matte textures and natural contrast) and Epson Premium Luster (a polyethylene-encapsulated substrate providing deep color saturation, vivid tonal range, and a cockle-free finish). Online open-edition paper orders ship un-matted and loose (flat or rolled depending on size) in heavy-gauge protective packaging, ready for custom framing.
- Conservation Matted Exhibition Prints (Art Festival Exclusives): Available exclusively at our physical art festival booths and gallery exhibitions, select open-edition prints are presented hand-assembled in acid-free four-ply conservation bevel matting with archival backing boards. These arrive pre-mounted to standard retail dimensions (12″ × 16″ and 18″ × 24″) for immediate framing into standard off-the-shelf frames.
Collector’s Reserve (Limited Editions) & Provenance
- Collector’s Reserve (Studio Inspection & Complimentary Delivery): Flagship masterworks are strictly capped at 50 prints worldwide across all sizes and mediums. Each piece is delivered directly to our studio first, where Mitch Huyck personally conducts a multi-point inspection, hand-signs and numbers the artwork, and pairs it with an embossed Certificate of Authenticity and tamper-evident security holograms. Every limited edition is prepared in custom boutique protective packaging and includes complimentary insured ground shipping within the continental United States.
Open Editions (Fulfillment)
Uncapped collector pieces and unframed fine art paper prints across our thematic galleries (Coastal Horizons, Ocean Depths, Alpine & Earth, Elements & Forms) are produced on-demand by our lab partner, Bay Photo. These orders are carefully packaged and shipped directly from the lab to your door, with standard carrier shipping calculated and paid at checkout. (Note: Hand-assembled, conservation-matted open-edition prints are offered exclusively in person at our art festival exhibition bins).
Fine Art Preservation & Care
To maintain the pristine brilliance of your statement wall art:
- Cleaning Acrylic & Metal: Use only a clean, plush microfiber cloth lightly dampened with distilled water or an approved non-abrasive acrylic cleaner (such as Brillianize or Novus No. 1).
- Important Precaution: Never use paper towels, ammonia-based glass cleaners (e.g., standard Windex), or abrasive scouring pads, as these will scratch the optical surface.
Production, Transit & Priority Guarantee
- Limited Editions (Collector’s Reserve): Hand-signed, inspected in-studio, and secured in custom shock-absorbing crates or heavy-gauge padded cartons. Complimentary insured shipping is included on all continental U.S. acquisitions. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for production, studio inspection, signing, and freight transit.
- Open Editions: Printed to order and shipped directly from Bay Photo in heavy-gauge protective tubes, rigid stay-flat mailers, or lab cartons. Shipping options and rates are calculated at checkout. Please allow 1 to 2 weeks for custom printing and lab transit.
- Transit Guarantee: Every shipment—whether shipped from our studio or directly from our lab—is fully insured door-to-door. In the unlikely event a package arrives damaged, notify us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the packaging and print; a priority replacement will be initiated immediately at no cost to you.
